So many nights I've spent laying awake,
With this eerie feeling I can't seem to shake.
Soaked in sweat with a head full of dread,
I can't help but feel that step on my grave.
Crushed by the weight of apprehension.
I'm losing hope and every good intention.
Mother, father, cast your eyes upon the son you've raised,
upon the man that stands before you today.
Do you feel pride or do you feel shame
For what I have done and what I've became?
Will I better myself and will I change my ways?
Or am I doomed to repeat this cycle to my dying day?
Who will grieve and who will cry at the sight of my grave?
Who will mourn and who will remember when they hear my name?
Who can I trust to come and gather?
Guess I'll sleep with one eye open
until both are closed forever.
